Our guest speakers for this webinar are:

Chandran Fernando: As the Founder and Managing Partner for Matrix360 (formally Matrix Search Group), Chandran has built an advisory platform for talent and workplace strategy in the Canadian real estate and development industry over the two decades. His mission in business is guided by his people-centric approach: to build the future of the workplace where diversity is recognized, equity is embraced, inclusion is celebrated, and belonging is the outcome.

Meryl Afrika: Meryl is the current President of the Canadian Association of Urban Financial Professionals (CAUFP), a non-profit organization that provides a link between corporations and the Black community, through innovative programing that increases Black talent pipelines, provides educational opportunities, and fosters economic growth. Meryl’s career within Canada’s Financial Services industry started when she emigrated from South Africa, and she has subsequently had various roles across Canada's Financial Services industry. Currently, Meryl works as a Payments Expert, Marketing & Innovation at Peoples Group, where she is responsible for representing the organization’s interests in the industry wide Payments Modernization program lead by Payments Canada.

During this session, we will tackle:

• The importance of Canadian Tamils supporting the BLM Movement

• The BLM Movement in a professional context

• What can we do individually

The webinar will also include a portion for critical conversation among smaller groups, followed by a Q&A session with our guest speakers.
